COVID-19 & How You Can Help
We have all seen our world turn upside down the last few weeks. It has been all too consuming and hard not to read the news every minute of the day. My family and I went on a vacation to Florida on March 6th.
I was nervous to leave but just kept telling myself I was overreacting. Fast forward a week and a half later when we were supposed to head back to NYC - the area having the biggest outbreak in the US. I was terrified to fly home. We made the difficult decision to stay in Florida for another two weeks. Luckily we found a temporary apartment for us to hunker down in (we have a 1 year old and 3 year old) and are praying things get better. I have taken a step back from reading the news and although I am VERY informed, it has helped with the anxiety I was feeling to not watch the news every minute. If you are feeling overwhelmed and scared, please take a break from reading the news and BREATHE. My baby girl came down with 103 fever for a few days and I thought I was going to faint I was so worried. This is all so consuming.
With every business at this time, our sales have slowed. We are very lucky we can still operate, unlike many businesses. We have thought about how we can help during this time and have decided to donate 10% of our sales for two weeks to the COVID-19 Response Fund at feedingamerica.org. With school closures, job disruptions, and health risks, millions of Americans will turn to food banks for much-needed support. They can't do it alone and you can help. If you have the means, please consider donating here.
Please be safe and stay indoors!
